Brocken bow is a shadow creature of humanoid resemblance and is tied to sites of major witchcraft trials and sabbats, mostly in Europe, specifically in southwestern France, Franconia and the Rhineland in Germany and parts of Saxony.
The Brocken bow manifests on the anniversaries of the witchcraft trials and sabbats, appearing at dusk to begin hunting victims as it prowls the lands near where it manifests.
The name refers to the Brocken, the highest peak in Germany's Harz mountains that is the location of a major annual witches gathering on April 30th (and was, according to legend, a place of magical activity even in the mana-less Fifth World).
